In the very heart of Jotunheimen National Park, you will find a warm and welcoming mountain lodge surrounded by dramatic, untouched nature. With easy access to spectacular hiking and skiing trails, crystal-clear fishing lakes, and iconic peaks such as Galdhøpiggen, Smørstabbrean and Loftet, Jotunheimen Fjellstue is the perfect base for both small and grand high-mountain adventures.

FOOD AND DRINK
At Jotunheimen Fjellstue, meals are an essential part of the mountain experience. Our menus vary with the seasons, focusing on local ingredients and Norwegian food traditions.
Enjoy your meal with panoramic views, honest flavours, and a carefully selected glass of wine or a local crafted beer from Lom Bryggeri.
Pratctical dining information:
Breakfast (at 8:00): Breakfast is served daily – included for our hotel guests.
Lunch (“matpakke”): You can prepare a traditional Norwegian packed lunch during breakfast - available for a small extra fee.
Dinner (at 20:00): A set seasonal menu is served in the evening - requires table reservations when booking your stay and for an additonal extra fee per person.
Café and Drop-in: During the summer season, our café is often open to hikers and travellers passing through Sognefjellet. We serve mountain pizza, burgers, waffles and coffee.
Culinary events: At selected times, we also host special culinary events, such as beer tastings with Lom Bryggeri or exclusive gourmet dinners. Check our calendar for upcoming events.

ABOUT JOTUNHEIMEN FJELLSTUE
Jotunheimen Fjellstue is located along the spectacular Sognefjellet National Scenic Route in Innlandet, surrounded by some of Norway’s highest mountains. Hospitality has been part of this place since the 1940s, offering a warm and personal mountain lodge for travelers.
The lodge is run by host, Ole Ragnar Repp. He has managed Jotunheimen Fjellstue since 2004 with a deep love for the mountains and genuine care for his guests.
Practical Information:
Season: We are a seasonal lodge, typically open from March/April through the end of September, when the roads are open.
EV Charging: Available onsite via Zaptec Charge365.
Check-in / Check-out times: Check-in from 16:00 and Check-out by 12:00.

From East (Oslo/Lom): Follow FV55 from Lom towards Sognefjellet.
From West (Sogndal): Follow FV55 over the mountain pass towards Bøverdalen.

If you are traveling without a car, Jotunheimen Fjellstue is accessible via a combination of train and seasonal bus routes:
By Train: Take the Vy train to Otta Station. From Otta, there are connecting buses to Lom.
By Express Bus: Direct buses operate from Oslo, Bergen, and Trondheim to Lom.
The Sognefjellet Summer Bus: During the summer season, there are bus departures from Lom toward Sogndal. These buses stop directly at Jotunheimen Fjellstue.

We have a small shop with a limited selection of small necessities, as well as some nice gifts and products from local suppliers and partners.
Otherwise, the nearest grocery store is in Bøverdalen, about a 30-minute drive.

The dinner offer is served to those who have ordered dinner at 20:00, and can vary from a simple or 3-course menu.
We do not have a fixed lunch service, but we offer you to pack your lunch during breakfast for those who wish for a small extra fee.
We also have periods with an open café during high season.

Jotunheimen fjellstue does not have hiking guides, but we have great partners who arrange many different guided tours.

One of our most popular summit tours is Loftet, which you can walk to in the summer and ski to in the spring. It is popular and the tour actually starts at the mountain lodge itself!

You will find Jotunheimen Fjellstue in Lom, Innlandet, Norway. Approximately in the middle of Jotunheimen, 994 meters above sea level, between Sognefjellet and Galdhøpiggen.

Statens vegvesen has good information on the status of the roads and the various mountain passes. There you can also see webcams in real time at selected points.
It is definitely recommended to check during the snow season or during bad weather.
